Aegean · Cyclades
Fishing harbours, long sandy beaches and marble villages in the hills. It is the island our office calls home.
The island
Paros is the Cyclades without the performance. Naousa's harbour still lands fish every morning, Lefkes in the hills is built of marble from the island's own quarries, and the beaches on the east coast are long, sandy and easy for children.
It is also the most practical island to stay on. Ferries connect it to Naxos, Mykonos and Santorini, and the little boat from Pounta reaches Antiparos in ten minutes. Our office is in Naousa, so for guests here we are never more than half an hour away.
Days out
Ouzo and grilled octopus at dusk, with the fishing boats tied up beside you.
Smooth granite boulders forming small pools of very still water.
An hour's walk on the old Byzantine marble path between two villages.
A ten-minute crossing from Pounta for a long lunch and a swim.
Paros airport (PAS) has short flights from Athens. Ferries from Piraeus take 3 to 4½ hours, and Paros links easily to the other Cyclades.
Late May to early October. September is our favourite month: the sea is warm and the island is quiet.
